BEATRICE BEA HOCKEY, 83, of Metamora (formerly of Auburn Hills), died Sunday, March 29, 2020.
Béatrice was born on December 1, 1936 in Rochester, to William and Ella (Whaley) South. She married Jerry D Hockey on January 12, 1957 in Pontiac. She worked 32 years at GM Truck & Bus as a sanitation engineer – she retired in 1996. Bea was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary # 377, a member of the Mothers of Multiple Twins Club in Bay City since 1962, as well as a member of the Michigan Bluegrass Assoc. Bea loved golf, bowling, camping, family reunions and helping everyone around her in need.
Bea is survived by her daughters, Lorena (Terry) Hockey-Evans of Metamora and Dorena (David) Williams of Rock Point, NC; grandchildren, Scott (Amanda) Williams, Diane Williams, Conrad Williams and Terry Evans II; two great grandchildren, Logan McKee and Bradley Williams; brothers and sisters, William South, Flora Irelan and Helen Eagleson. Bea will also be missed by many loving nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry D Hockey; two sons, Gary Hockey and Terry Hockey; her mother, Ella Robinson; father, William South; and her parents-in-law.
Interment will take place at Perry Mt. Park Cemetery. The Beas family is planning a memorial service in the near future. Arrangements have been made to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
