Dharwad: MLC and former Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj Horatti has threatened to go on an indefinite hunger strike for the Deputy Commissioners’ office in Dharwad from December 5 if the government is overcoming the arrears of salaries of teachers living in the NA Muttanna Police Childrens work does not pay Residential school in Dharwad.
In a letter to the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary, Horatti said that teaching and non-teaching staff working at the school have not received a salary for the past nine months and have been abandoned.
He said that one teacher, who was depressed due to a financial crisis, died of a heart attack, while another teacher’s wife died and was unable to bear the difficulties.
He urged authorities to take steps to reopen the school, which aims to provide quality education to the children of police officers, chief officers and assistant sub-inspectors from Belagavi and Kalaburgi.
Horatti claimed that there was rampant corruption by the police officers connected to the school management and that they had siphoned the generator, TV sets, table tennis table, furniture, school bus, AC machine and refrigerators, among other things. A committee appointed to investigate the corruption allegations made no progress.
I have written to the Prime Minister BS Yediyurappa and the Minister of the Interior Basavaraj Bommai to arrange the payment of arrears to the staff and to reopen the school. Both were indifferent to my pleas. The top of the police does not respond. This is the only school for the children of police personnel in North Karnataka and I am determined to save this school, Horatti said.
The school had recorded that 100% passed the SSLC exam for 10 years and 97% passed 8 years. Performance is down as 77% passed the SSLC study conducted in March / April 2019.
Dharwad SP was the chair of the school board and since the school previously had jurisdiction over the income divisions of Belagavi and Kalaburgi, IGP (north) was appointed chair. This would not have gone well with the then Dharwad SP G Sangeeta and she planned to close the school for citing poor student performance in the SSLC exam.
Horatti had discussed the matter with the government. While efforts were made to reopen the school for the 2020-2021 academic year, the Covid pandemic did not allow it.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
