Off-campus incident leads to early end of St. Joe's hockey season
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – St. Joe's ends his hockey season early.
The school released a statement on Wednesday saying, "The St. Josephs Collegiate Institute Federation Federation hockey team loses the rest of the 2019-2020 season."
This not only means that there will be no more local games for St. Joe's, but that the team will also not play at the NYS State Catholic Hockey Tournament this Saturday at Coney Island.
The reason stems from the result of a recent internal investigation.
"We regret that the team season must end on this note, but our investigation has revealed that many team players have clearly violated our schools' code of conduct; it is unacceptable and there must be consequences, "said St. Joes President Christopher Fulco.
Fulco refers to a recent incident that occurred outside of school hours and outside of school. The school says a number of hockey players have violated St. Joe's code of conduct.
