In many cases, innovation can be as exciting as Thomas Edison’s light bulbs or as controversial as Alexander Graham Bells’ phone. Still, even the smallest inventions can leave a widespread spillover effect.

Consider Margaret E. Knights’ contribution to the world in the 19th century. It may seem humble, but for nearly 150 years it has influenced society’s ability to conveniently transport goods.

What is Knights’ innovative brainstorming? It was nothing but what we call a flat-bottomed paper bag.

The point is that you are a positive pioneer and you don’t have to be Steve Jobs or Sir Isaac Newton to make a difference. So, in honor of the National Inventors Month, Ive asked six sort leaders to share their insights, tips, and reflections on innovation.

No matter how modest you are, it’s a good idea to use the springboard of their wisdom for your own ideas. After all, the most basic concepts can affect the world more than you can imagine.

1. Beware of the gap: Amanda Dickson, Co-founder and CEO of Bernie

She has a network of more than 25,000 potential buyers and has led more than 150 companies to acquisition. And it all started as she identified the gap and set out to fill it.

2. Choose the right partner: Brett Hyman, President, CEO and Founder of NVE Experience Agency

Well-known inventors have received all the praise, but many would not have been able to innovate without help. Brett Heimann knows this very well. That’s why he advises all innovators to invest in great people.

Heyman explains that being a CEO is surrounded by the people who unleash the best of you. They may cost more, but great people have an exponential multiplier that returns a huge amount of value. A good person can help you grow your business horizontally and vertically.

Heyman says his philosophy of constant improvement and reinvention would not have been rewarded without investing in others throughout his career. This includes inviting experts in areas such as content, PR, brand partnerships, influencer marketing, and social media strategies to build a fully integrated marketing experience for your company’s clients. So don’t think you have to travel alone. Surround yourself with a thoughtful team that is ready to create like you.

3. Free from unnecessary habits: Andy Davidson, Andrew Davidson & Co. , President of Inc.

Innovation is not limited to physical creations. Take Andy Davidsons’ company as an example. There, the director’s traditional notion was reversed. Rather than having a manager to guide the workforce of 50 employees, Davidson implements a streamlined method of autonomy to help his staff.

Davidson explains how the workflow was set up and why it produced excellent results. People are organized into functional teams and elected to the council to coordinate work between teams, he says. Working without an administrator means that decision-making and innovation are based on ideas and influence, not compulsory authority. Eliminating the dynamics of management makes your daily work more enjoyable.

From Davidsons’ point of view, this multidimensional person-to-person dimensional structure encourages everyone to work together and support. In other words, it is one of those hidden inventions that has a significant impact on the affected workers and customers. It also represents the basic beliefs that Davidson cherishes.

4. Rethink the Ordinary: Cemtrex CEO Saagar Govil

Most of the items we use on a regular basis work fine, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be improved. As Saagar Govil points out, his team is constantly innovating to solve their day-to-day challenges. Govil sees this as a great way to practice problem-solving and inspire your imagination.

Generations of workers have evolved and changed in terms of needs and productivity, but the average desk hasn’t changed much over the centuries, Govil explains. .. However, don’t expect all solutions to be available soon. As iterations continue to be built on their own, you can expect to follow a constant pattern of evolution.

5. Give yourself the freedom to fail: Isaac Kunkel, Senior Vice President of Consulting Services at Chainyard

In the world of fast-paced technology, disability has a different meaning than any other context. A series of failures may be required to win a single victory.

Technologies like AI may seem like they’re already in place in every sector, but that’s not always the case. Lu Zhang recommends that technology be considered from all perspectives to find ways to bring existing innovations into untapped areas.

Zhang believes that creative thinking can harness the power of technology in far more ways than we can imagine. Your role as an innovator is to find the problem to be solved. Perhaps try choosing an industry that hasn’t had the opportunity to apply new technology yet, she suggests. For example, Zhang is investing in deep technology applications for healthcare. Keep in mind that frontier technologies like VR, AR, and everything in between aren’t completely saturating all markets. Your innovative thinking may solve problems and change the world.
