Indonesia’s first Fintech bank, Indonesia-based Amar Bank, announces Google Cloud-based banking solution

Based in Indonesia, which is said to be part of the Tolaram Group and became the first Fintech bank in the country with the launch of its digital product Tunaiku, Amar Bank has introduced a fully-resident app-only banking service on Google Cloud.

The app-only service uses proprietary technology provided by the bank’s Fintech division (Tunaiku). This solution is supported by FIS Cloud, which provides an end-to-end solution with cloud technologies such as public cloud, private cloud, multi-cloud, hybrid cloud, DevOps.

The new service, called the My Smile app, is also supported by Infofabrica, a cloud consulting and managed services company that helps companies transform their digital transformation strategies.

The My Smile app features a savings account that comes with personal money management and account aggregation software tools.

Amar Bank also uses Google Cloud for AI, analytics, and big data architecture. The bank said it plans to update the My Smile app and is currently only releasing the Lite (or basic) version.

Indonesian banks are not authorized to use cloud solutions or data centers based abroad.
