Flood Hub, first launched in 2021, displays forecasts of river floods, the floods that occur when streams and rivers overflow their levees into surrounding areas, showing when and where they are likely to occur . According to the EPA, man-made climate change could make these types of floods bigger and more frequent than before. Highly populated and flood-risk areas are now on Google’s list of predictable locations, including the Netherlands, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, as well as Myanmar, which has just been hit by Cyclone Mocha.
