2K unveils Mafia: Definitive Edition gameplay

2K reveals what fans can expect for the next Mafia: The Final, which will be released on September 25th.

The new trailer offers an enhanced look to the Mafia remake and is narrated by developer Hanger 13 Chief Creative Officer Hayden Blackman. Last month, 2K made fun of players with the “New Beginnings” cinematic story trailer.

The gameplay public trailer provides details of the reworked game and details of one of the game’s most iconic missions, The Journey to the Countryside. The trailer shows how to use motion capture to redefine the colorful characters in your game. There is a comparison between the 2002 version and the remake, showing how much it has improved.

Built from scratch, Mafia: Definitive Edition is not a remastered or collection version with premium downloadable content. This is a brand new game, a reconsideration of the 2002 famous original Mafia game. Unlike the recent Mafia II: Final, which only replaces the original textures, Mafia: Final uses the same modern game engine that is used in Mafia III.

The 2K Hanger 13 is also involved in Mafia III and is responsible for reselling this groundbreaking classic game. The team that creates the new game includes the developers who worked on the original mafia game.

The remake features a new dialog, an expanded backstory, and an updated script filled with additional cutscenes. The game also includes brand new gameplay sequences and features, new movies and other enhancements. However, the core story and the original game icon sequence are retained.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is the final part of the rereleased Mafia Trilogy. Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition are already available.
