City of Winnipeg seeks input from Winnipeggers on replacing popular Oman's Creek Bridge – Winnipeg

Winnipeggers are being asked for their input on replacing the Oman's Creek pedestrian bridge.

An iconic intersection in the Wolseley area needs to be replaced, the city says, and residents can donate their two cents as part of a “pre-design” public engagement program before a new design is undertaken.

The city says the issue of replacing the aging bridge first arose nearly a decade and a half ago, but it stalled after local residents expressed concerns about the proposed design.

The engagement process will review feedback from the 2010 proposal and consider the standards the community wants for a bridge over the creek. This is because old bridges need to be replaced within five years due to serious problems and lack of equipment. Concerns about accessibility and annual flooding.
