Google Cloud and Oracle today announced a new strategic cloud partnership that enables customers to seamlessly migrate and run mission-critical enterprise workloads across Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The partnership offers a rich set of interoperable solutions to make it easier for our mutual customers to migrate, modernize, and manage their Oracle-based applications to the cloud. With a unified engineering, product, and commercial model, these integrated solutions provide choice and flexibility backed by the end-to-end, enterprise-class, joint support model that our mutual customers have relied on for years. At the core of this partnership is Oracle Database@Google Cloud, where Oracle will directly host, operate, and manage Oracle database services natively in and from Google Cloud datacenters, starting with regional footprints in North America and Europe with plans to rapidly expand globally.

For years, our mutual enterprise customers have expressed interest in an integration framework that would allow them to continue to benefit from Oracle's database and enterprise application offerings while seamlessly complementing Google Cloud offerings and AI solutions like Gemini and Vertex AI to modernize and accelerate their cloud migration. However, when customers explored existing multi-vendor, multi-cloud options, they found that these solutions did not offer enough choice or native integration options to meet the customers' technical and commercial requirements. Additionally, customers had to deal with additional costs, such as data transfer charges between clouds, and a lack of end-to-end enterprise-grade support for these architectures.

This partnership is an investment and innovation to address these challenges on behalf of our mutual customers, enabling them to seamlessly host Oracle Database services, such as Exadata Cloud Service and Oracle Autonomous Database, directly in Google datacenters. Additionally, customers can interconnect Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud with no cloud-to-cloud data transfer charges, and get support for running Oracle applications, such as Oracle E-Business Suite, on Google Cloud.

Oracle Database@Google Cloud brings modern database services to Google Cloud datacenters running on OCI hardware. Customers can now benefit from Oracle Autonomous Database, the leading managed service for Oracle Database. Customers can also migrate their mission-critical database workloads to Oracle Exadata Database Cloud Service, the leading platform for Oracle Database, or run Oracle Database on Google Compute Engine.
