Currys

Video commerce provider Bambuser has announced a partnership with electronics retailer Currys.

“We're excited to begin this journey with Bambuser,” said Andy Gamble, group CIO at Currys.

“Video commerce offers a unique opportunity to engage with customers in a more meaningful way and introduce products to buyers one-on-one in a personalized and interactive way.

We are confident that this partnership will create an enhanced shopping experience that will increase customer loyalty.”

Currys said that by partnering with Bambuser to implement the virtual consultation solution, it aims to leverage the power of shoppable video calling to enable shoppers to interact with product experts during a virtual consultation wherever they are, ask questions and make informed purchasing decisions.

Walmart

In April, we reported that Walmart was now able to sell physical goods directly to users within Roblox.

Walmart Discovered users can have physical products delivered directly to their doorstep.

Users will be greeted by a new storefront showcasing virtual twins of select products sold in Walmart's brick-and-mortar stores. This feature is available only to users in the U.S. who are 13 years of age or older.

“There's a traditional checkout flow where you enter your name, address, credit card information, and it's all powered by Walmart's API, which handles all of that information very securely. It's very secure,” Justin Breton, Walmart's director of brand experience and strategic partnerships, told Digiday.

Once you click checkout, you'll receive a confirmation email from Walmart. All of this is handled on the backend, and you'll receive your item via email, but your virtual twin will be sent right back to Roblox.

The pilot ran throughout May, during which Roblox took a cut of item sales and all revenue went directly to Walmart, with the short-term goal being to gauge whether users were willing to buy physical goods on the platform.

And now, Roblox's next real-world commerce drop, Walmart Discovered, has arrived just in time for summer.

Travis Perkins

UK building supplies merchant and home improvement retailer Travis Perkins has fitted its latest electric forklift trucks with an industry-first tested audible alarm system, SIVAS.

A total of 1,200 forklifts have been electrified across the group, with around 600 fitted with SIVAS so far to address concerns about how quiet electric forklifts are in operation compared to diesel-engine forklifts and the safety risks this may pose.

This mirrors how electric cars are being equipped with audible warning sounds to warn pedestrians and other road users.

SIVAS was developed as part of research commissioned on behalf of the Group by Carl Wilshaw, technical fleet director at Travis Perkins, and carried out by a specialist acoustic testing team at Salford Manchester University.

The alarm received the highest rating when tested by a group of forklift drivers based on a distinctive sound that is easy to detect.

REWE Group

REWE Group has opened its first autonomous PENNY store in Romania.

The 349 sqm plot is located in Bucharest.

“After a team of over 50 colleagues, more than 80,000 hours of work and 4,000 hours of testing, the time has finally come: the first autonomous PENNY store in Romania and worldwide has opened in Bucharest,” Christoph Oelze, chief digital and technology officer for the REWE Group, said in a LinkedIn post.

Elze added that in Germany, the REWE Group is a pioneer with hybrid test stores in Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg and Düsseldorf, and is running a store in Munich with fully automated checkout via REWE Pick&Go.

The company launched its first autonomous store with IKI Go in Lithuania a year and a half ago and remains the only one with five stores in the country.

One important advantage is the speed at which information is sent and received. With the help of the internet, the shopping habits of many persons have drastically changed. The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
