New UI for sharing content via Google Messages is being gradually rolled out

Last October, Google tested a new UI for users sharing content via the Google Messages platform. You know how it works? You tap the share icon on the content you want to send to someone, which opens the share sheet. From the share sheet, you tap Google Messages. You'll then see a list of people you've recently messaged with.[会話を選択]A page will appear. Select the name of the person you want to share with,[新しいメッセージ]You can tap to send the content as an entirely new message, or send it to someone not on the list.

According to 9to5Google, after a minor update, when you select Google Messages from the share sheet on your Android device, you'll see a page called “Choose Recipient.” This page shows the last five conversations you've had using Google Messages, along with a small selection of messages sent at the end of each conversation. Below the last conversation, there's a link called “Recent Conversations,” which when tapped, will show you your entire message history. If you're looking for a specific recipient and don't want to scroll through your entire message history, tap the search icon at the top right of the screen.

If you're sharing with multiple Google Message recipients at once, you can add the names of other recipients by tapping the circle on the right side of each listing to reveal a checkmark. At the top of the page, you'll see the profile icon of each person who will receive the content you share. At the bottom right of the screen is a “Next” floating action button that allows you to continue the process.

The new UI has yet to appear on the Pixel 6 Pro, which is running the latest Android 15 beta. Although distribution has increased in recent weeks, it appears that Google has yet to push the updated UI out to all Android users. According to 9to5Google, users who signed up for Google Messages' beta channel are receiving the update.
