Rare Xbox console on sale for £7,700

A rare Xbox console that was generously donated to us has sold for an incredible £7,700. The unique games console was donated to our shop in Oxford and then sold on the eBay site.

The auction ended on Saturday evening, with 62 bids resulting in it being sold for an astonishing £7,700.

Just 36 of the Pepsi Hulk consoles were sold in 2003, a time when halter tops were all the rage and Beyoncé's “Crazy in Love” was topping the charts.

Paul Smith, an avid gamer and functionality tester at eBay HQ, saw the console's vibrant green colour and knew it was something special: “As a gamer myself, the combination of the unusual green colour and the Hulk and Pepsi logo really stood out to me.

Proceeds from sales of Xbox consoles will go towards life-saving research into heart and circulatory diseases.
