Google's Gemini AI finally comes to Messages on more Android phones

Google's messaging app, Gemini, was initially limited to Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices but is now available on all eligible Android smartphones.

Google's conversational AI allows you to draft messages and ask questions on a range of topics. Initially, Gemini was only available on popular Android smartphones such as the Google Pixel 6, 7, and 8, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, including the recent foldable smartphone. It is now available on a wider range of devices.

Starting a chat with Gemini is easy. Just go to the Messages app[チャットを開始]With just a tap of the button, you'll see the option to talk to Gemini at the top. If you've previously talked to Gemini, you can quickly jump back into the conversation from your existing message thread.

Gemini is currently accessible through Messages in over 165 countries, including India. Currently, it only supports English, and French is only available in Canada. Google is aware of this limitation and says it will focus on expanding Gemini's language support and global availability in the future.

Alongside this expansion, Google has launched the standalone Gemini app and its premium version, Gemini Advanced, in India, which supports English and nine popular Indian languages.

In a recent blog post, Google highlighted the important role played by the Indian market and celebrated Gemini's highly successful debut year. The post noted that users across India are avidly using Gemini for all kinds of tasks.

While India has been the primary focus of Google's recent Gemini expansion, its reach goes beyond borders: the standalone Gemini app and Gemini Advanced have also been launched in other countries across South Asia and Eurasia, including Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
