The latest Sonos app update removes Google Assistant.

I have tried deleting and unlinking the Sonos Beam and adding it again. When I try to add Google Assistant to my Sonos Beam, Google Assistant searches for devices. Most of the time it doesn't find the device, but sometimes it finds the Sonos Beam but can't add Google Assistant. It's going round in circles. Please help!!

Sonos app info is build 80.03.06-release+20240613.b0fbafe42 (latest updates applied).

I verified that Google Assistant has access to my Sonos account.

You can make sure that both Sonos and Google Assistant are on the same network and that the network is stable.

Sonos Beam works with my TV and also with third party music apps and Google Assistant. It was working perfectly before a major Sonos app update. I unlinked my Sonos Beam from Google Assistant and linked it again. Now I get a “Device not found” message via G Assistant. G Assistant can find the Sonos Beam but it says there was a problem adding GA to the Beam.

I can see the Sonos Beam on Google Home, and I can control the volume of the Beam, as well as mute and unmute it, so I can tell that Google Home is communicating with the Beam, but the Google Assistant isn't loaded.

I contacted Sonos support and was told that this is apparently a known issue for Sonos, and while the feature isn't implemented at the moment, it will be coming back in a future update.

The Sonos team wants to make sure that the Google Assistant implementation goes without a hitch.

It's so bad! I tried Sonos Assistant and it didn't help.
