Dr. Audrey DePelteau of East Tennessee State University will be attending the 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit in National Harbor, Maryland, this week.

This is the largest event dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment in the U.S. Organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce, this annual event attracts over 5,000 participants from over 80 countries.

Participants attend to gain insight into the latest policy and investment trends, build connections, and initiate meaningful business relationships.

DePelteau, director of the ETSU Innovation Lab, is serving as a judge for the Clean Tech Pitching session, where innovative technology startups in the clean tech sector pitch their products and services in the U.S. market for growth and expansion.

With this invitation, DePelteau will be the first person from Tennessee to serve as a judge at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, now in its 10th year and running through Thursday, June 26. In addition to serving as a judge, he will have an ETSU table set up in the exhibit hall and will work with the ETSU Research Corporation and the university's International Enrollment and Services staff to attract more international companies and students to ETSU.

Last year, DePelteau was the first Tennessean invited to speak at the summit.

The Innovation Lab is a high-tech business incubator in partnership with the ETSU Research Corp. that helps aspiring entrepreneurs develop technologies from concept to commercialization. The Innovation Lab has been accredited with the International Soft Landing designation since 2015.

DePelteau and his team are focused on creating solutions to global problems by building bridges between entrepreneurs, educational institutions, economic development councils and the international business community.
