Texas State Parks Pass prices to increase to $95 starting September 1st

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The price of a Texas State Parks Pass will increase from $70 to $95 starting Sept. 1, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. This marks the second price increase since the program was implemented in 2004.

When the Texas State Parks Pass was introduced in 2004, it cost $60. In 2011, the price increased to $70. In the 13 years since then, we've made many improvements to our parks. TPWD said on social media that the price increase will help fund further improvements and ongoing maintenance.

According to TPWD, purchasing a pass allows unlimited visits to more than 85 Texas state parks for one year, as well as other discounts.

Current pass holders with passes expiring after Sept. 1 can renew early to receive another 12 months of benefits for a $70 fee, according to TPWD.
