As someone who lives in the US and knows the academic and professional paths to get to top companies like Google and Amazon, I can only laugh at the silly campaign launched by NOTA (No Tech for Apartheid). It's a cheap populist campaign that has no meaning or impact. The problem is that many young people, some of whom may be intelligent, are easily drawn into anti-Semitic actions against Israel.

First, the technology industry, including companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, saw massive layoffs in 2023, with thousands of employees being fired, and this trend is expected to continue into 2024 with more layoffs.

Second, getting a job at a top company like Google or Amazon is highly competitive. The great benefits, high salaries, and prestige that these companies offer means hundreds of applicants compete for attractive positions. In other words, for every newly vacant position, dozens of eager applicants are willing to join.

Additionally, many of the world's leading technology companies have their renowned R&D centers in Israel, and for good reason. One of the main reasons is that Israel is home to an educated, creative, and high-quality workforce that is responsible for many of the country's leading innovations. Even if a few employees or students boycott these companies because of their Israeli ties, it certainly won't shut down these valuable R&D centers.

In fact, this boycott is not only pointless, it's helping these big companies weed out low-quality candidates who can't think independently and who follow the crowd without question. No company wants such employees, and no one is looking for anti-Semites in the industry. We wish them the best of luck in their future careers.

Israelis should be concerned about the rise in incitement and anti-Semitism around the world because they want to maintain and improve their country's global standing. We must immediately counter this at the national level and develop a strong public relations strategy to change the situation in the long term.

Changing Israel's reputation is a complex strategic battle that we must win, and the government must provide the necessary resources, because failure will cost lives.
