Around one million cycling fans gathered in the Tuscan capital of Florence today to watch the Grand Part of the Tour de France. This is the first time in its 121-year history that the start of the world's most famous cycling race will be held in Italy. The Tour's famous yellow, green, polka dot and white jerseys are made by the Italian company Santini.

There's an American connection, too: Santani works with Polartec, the US performance fabric manufacturer, to produce cycling jerseys. The two companies worked together to create the unisex Ombra jersey, which uses Polartec's Power Stretch and Delta fabrics.

Power Stretch provides a 4-way stretch fit and Delta cooling. Santini has partnered with Polartec since 2018 for winter fabrics.

The Ombra jersey features Power Stretch on the front and back, with Polartecs Delta fabric on the sides of the jersey for a cooling effect.

Delta is a soft fabric with excellent moisture wicking, quick drying and reduced cling when wet.
