Out-of-the-box Google Calendar trigger workaround – How-to

I understand that Google Calendar's current trigger is just a polling trigger, but I know that the Google Calendar API has a way for push notifications that would take another step to get changes since the last sync.

Has anyone figured out how to do this all with Make.com?

I already pay for two-way sync between Google Calendar and Asana, but I'd like to customize the process a bit more than my current solution does, so I was curious if I could get some help figuring this out.

I'm stumped:

Do I refresh the access token every 50 minutes? How can I get the event ID for the changes made? How can I get the synced diff? How can I get this setting so that I can add multiple calendars?

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nothing triggers an event change immediately.

A workaround to trigger immediately at the start of an event is to set up a notification in Google Calendar to send you an email when the event starts.

Gmail will then forward it to the scenario's custom Mailhook instant trigger.

Yes, I understand there is no immediate trigger.

But that wasn't my question, and I already know that the mail hook trigger can send a text message when an event starts, but that wasn't my question either.

I wanted a more complex workflow that would use the Google Calendar API to send push notifications of changes since the last sync.

I get that you’re trying to build your brand, but I can’t help but feel like you’re just spamming comments without reading what people are looking for.
