Man jailed for carrying replica Legend of Zelda video game sword in public | Knife crime

A man has been jailed after brandishing a replica sword from Nintendo's “The Legend of Zelda” game in the streets of a Warwickshire market town, which he claims was a fidget toy.

Anthony Bray, 48, from Nuneaton, was sentenced to four months in prison after being found to be in possession of a bladed article in public.

Warwickshire Police said the item in question was a replica of the Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda series, with a blade measuring six inches in length.

The blade was stored in a sheath and could be removed by pressing a button.

On June 8, officers were alerted via CCTV footage to a man named Bray walking down Queens Road in Nuneaton with a sword in his hand. Bray approached officers so that the blade was visible, at which point he was arrested.

He said the sword was a toy he bought online to keep his hands active.
