Google Weather improves 10-day forecasts

Previously, the 10-day forecast only showed the appropriate day of the week for each of the 10 days (Monday, Tuesday, etc.). To avoid confusion, the 10-day forecast starts with the current day's forecast labeled “Today.” Yes, that makes sense. Then, following today's forecast, you'll see the forecast for the next 9 days, which includes the day of the week, date, a cartoon illustration of the forecast conditions, and the expected high and low temperatures for that day.

This should clear up some confusion that may have arisen when users check the forecast for a day after a week has passed. For most people, this probably wasn't an issue even before Google decided to add dates to the 10-day forecast. Still, it should make things a little easier when planning ahead. On a Pixel 6 Pro running the latest Android 15 beta, you'll now see an updated 10-day forecast with the full date and time.

To get the Google Weather shortcut on your home screen, open the Google app on your Android phone. Type “weather” in the search bar and you'll see a small version of the Google Weather page. To the right of the word “weather,” you'll see a three-dot menu icon. Tapping on it will bring up a pop-up menu titled “About this result.” The menu lets you choose between Fahrenheit and Celsius for the temperature, and also lets you “Add to home screen.” Tapping on it will add the Google Weather shortcut to your home screen. Google should make a weather app specifically for Android devices that you can install from the Google Play Store. There are third-party weather apps you can consider installing from the Play Store, such as The Weather Channel app and AccuWeather. In addition to the current weather and forecast, both apps also let you check the radar for your area for free.
