Two Innovation Awards were awarded this year: one for a highly original laptop with dual displays, and the other for a suite of AI technologies from the world's largest smartphone brand.

ASUS Zenbook Duo UX8406 ​​- The perfect dual screen laptop

Dual-display laptops are nothing new. In fact, ASUS has been making dual-display laptops since 2019. The Zenbook Duo UX8406 ​​is the company's fourth dual-display ultraportable laptop, and it's the most refined and improved one yet. First, ASUS' previous attempts compromised with a small or low-quality secondary display. But the Zenbook Duo UX8406 ​​has two high-quality OLED displays with identical specifications. Galaxy AI – Getting Gen AI Right for Mobile

While Google brought generative artificial intelligence to the mass market in a limited form in 2023, it was Samsung that successfully used AI to evolve communications and raise awareness of the benefits of AI among the general public. The Galaxy AI boasts not one but several features still not found on other smartphones even half a year after its debut.

In the first version of Galaxy AI, Samsung was able to offer real-time translations during calls, enable intuitive online searches by circling anything you see on the screen, and do just about every other AI trick (auto-summarize your notes, generative edits for photos you take, etc.). All of this may sound primitive years from now, but for now it's the best combination of generative AI in a meaningful way that improves how you use your phone. What's more, these perks aren't limited to 2024 phones, they're extended to older models as well, and when we tested them, we found them to work flawlessly.

Looking back, this may be the next big thing in the mobile ecosystem after they killed buttons and introduced apps almost 20 years ago.
