More Google Pixel 9 leaks reveal matte finish Pro XL

For fans of Google's Pixel series, there have been countless leaks that have both excited and worried, especially surrounding the Google Pixel 9's rumored camera bump. The latest leak video reveals size differences between the rumored upcoming Pixel 9 Pro XL and several other devices.

Based on two leaked clips from TikTok account @pixophone, we can see what appears to be a near-final version of the Pixel 9 Pro XL compared to the Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (via 9to5Google). The Pixel 9 is expected to feature a 6.24-inch display, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL is expected to feature a 6.73-inch display. There's obviously not a huge difference. The Galaxy S24 Ultra's screen is 6.8 inches, which is only 0.07 inches larger than the Pixel 9 Pro XL's screen, but the boxy look of the Samsung smartphone makes it look bigger in comparison. The matte finish of the Pixel 9 Pro XL's back panel is also shown off, contrasting with the Pixel 9's glossy back panel. On the edges of both smartphones, the product finish is reversed, with the Pixel 9 Pro XL's edges being glossy and the Pixel 9's edges being matte.

In the past, this event has been held in October, but we think Google made the right move by bringing it forward by two months. The late summer months are known for being a relatively quiet time for tech releases and announcements, so having this event will revitalize what was otherwise a leaky, pre-determined, over-researched, and stale event. Most of these prices are increases over the Pixel 8 lineup.
