Google Pixel 9 leak reveals photos of three flagship smartphones and the Pixel 9 Pro

The Pixel 8a only just launched earlier this year, but many are already looking forward to the Pixel 9 series this fall. A leak earlier this year revealed a size option that hadn't existed for five years, and a new leak this week showed real-world photos of the 9 Fold Pro and suggests the 9 Pro XL will have faster charging speeds.

The leak comes from 91mobiles and Android Authority, who also released images.

First off, four new 5K renders and a 360-degree video have been leaked for the Pixel 9 series. Looking at the images, a few things stand out.

The Pixel 9 keeps the rounded rear camera bump and has a dual-lens setup like the 8. As with the Pixel 8 series, you'll need to upgrade to the Pro model to get the extra camera, and the phone also has rounded edges, a flat display, and a punch-hole selfie camera in the middle.

Here's where it gets interesting: Images leaked a few months ago showed three cameras on the back of the device, leading many to assume the triple-camera option would come to the smaller Pixel. But now we're seeing three different sizes, including an XL model, something Google hasn't done since 2019's Pixel 4 XL, after which it switched to Pro branding.

Ironically, if these numbers are true, the XL could be slightly smaller in size than the current generation, as the Pixel 8 Pro sports a 6.7-inch screen. However, both versions of the Pro come with triple cameras, so if you want triple cameras in a smaller package, this might finally be your chance.

A leak this week, first reported by Android Authority, revealed the inside of the 9 Fold Pro, and while it doesn't reveal anything revolutionary, it does show that Google has moved the internal selfie camera to the corner of the screen and added a new square camera arrangement to the rest of the screen, straying from the brand's iconic Pixel camera bar.

Leaks this week also reported new charging speeds, with the Pixel 9 Pro XL being the most notable at 32.67W, meaning the phone will likely support 35W charging, up from the Pixel 8 Pro's 30W.

If Google releases a Pixel 9a, it would mean four versions of the same phone, and it's possible that the base 9 model will essentially be the 9a, with the 9 Pro replacing the 8 and the 9 Pro XL replacing the 8 Pro.

Apart from this information, all that's known about the upcoming Pixel lineup of smartphones is that they will feature an Adaptive Touch mode that will change the sensitivity of the screen depending on the environment.
