Wiltshire University Student Awarded Innovation Scholarship

Two students from the Chippenham campus and three from the Salisbury campus will be displaying a diverse range of artworks.

Salisbury students Jamie Hanrahan and Sasha Hollis, both in Level 3 first year art and design, and Dom Kirby, in Level 3 second year music, were selected from more than 500 submissions.

Eddie Reduir and Arthur Blakey at the Chippenham campus have also been approached to exhibit.

Organised by an accredited institution of University of the Arts London (UAL), this free exhibition allows art lovers, critics and industry professionals to discover new talent.

It also celebrates the efforts of young creatives across the UK and overseas.

Origins Creatives serves as a platform for emerging artists to connect with potential collaborators, industry leaders, and a wider audience.

The event will cover a range of UAL's disciplines, including art and design, fashion business and retail, creative media and music performance.

This year's event will take place at The Mall Gallery in central London. The exhibition will hold an invitation-only opening night on July 16th and will be open to the public from July 17th to 20th. There will also be an online showcase.

Visitors can view a wide variety of works including painting, photography, drawing, sculpture and fashion, offering a glimpse into the artistic talent being nurtured on local campuses.

Jamie's work is an oil painting that recreates scenes from ancient Greek mythology. She said: “I am surprised and honoured that my painting was selected for the exhibition. This course has given me the freedom to explore different mediums and themes. It is important to me to continue drawing and creating, so I have decided to study Fine Art at Bath Spa University next year.”

Sasha's project is a menswear piece she created in response to the theme of weather. She said: “I was nervous about whether my work would be sent to the exhibition but I was really happy to be considered. I had a really fun and interesting time making this piece for my final unit project and now to know it's being shown in a gallery in London feels absolutely surreal.”
