BBVA signs agreement with Telefnicatec to strengthen cybersecurity worldwide

With the development of this new project, Telefnica Tech has become one of BBVA's main strategic partners in cyber security. The bank embraces the technology company's latest advances, backed by its global experience and the advantages offered by intelligence to detect, identify and respond to potential threats and monitor the activity of cyber attackers. Telefnica Tech offers around 50 services aimed at providing a holistic security response to each of the bank's operational and business elements, including proactive prediction of threats, definition of operational tactics, strategies to strengthen BBVA's resilience and protection of Data Processing Centers (DPCs).

One of the main novelties of this agreement is the creation of a new Center of Expertise in the Americas in Mexico, which will be fully operational in July and join the BBVA Cybersecurity Center in Europe (Spain). The two hubs will be staffed by around 200 Telefnica Tech cybersecurity experts, who will work together with the BBVA team to offer global and complementary services, forming one of the largest cybersecurity centers in the financial industry.
