I cannot send a message from my computer or I cannot make or receive calls

I can’t install the Google Hangouts plug-in

The Google Hangouts plug-in is a great (but older) way to use the service if you’re not using a modern browser like Google Chrome. It is available on older versions of Safari and Internet Explorer. Generally, if the plug-in does not work, you will have to try to activate it manually. It should also be noted that the plug-in is not necessary if you are using Chrome.

To manually activate the Google Hangouts plug-in on Safari, you must first launch the browser. You must then visit the menu at the top, click on Preferences, followed by Security, then Plug-in settings. Look for the Google Hangouts plug-in in the list and make sure it’s authorized.
