Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy Trailer Unveiled During PS5 Event

The upcoming open-world Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy, was unveiled today during today’s PS5 showcase event. This is an “immersive open world action RPG” where you can create your own wizards to learn different spells. The game is developed by Avalanche Studios. Recently known for Just Cause 4 and Rage 2.

Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PlayStation 5 in 2021. After the event, it became clear that the game would appear on PS4 and Xbox One as well as on Xbox Series X.

Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the late 1800s. There, your actions shape the magical world of Harry Potter. In Hogwarts Legacy’s main campaign, you can learn magic, tame fantastic beasts, and team up with the iconic Harry Potter character. Except for the 2021 release window, the game details are missing and no other platforms have been identified. Check out the official public trailer below.

Along with the public trailer, Avalanche shared some of the latest screenshots players can expect with the release of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy next year.

Adrian Ropp, the head of Avalanche’s story, briefly described some of the features Hogwarts Legacy is pitching, thanks to the power of the PlayStation 5 processor and the sensor capabilities of the DualSense controller. Specifically, DualSense incorporates a sense of sound and touch not found in previous Harry Potter games, making Hogwarts Legacy more immersive, Ropp said.

“This is an exciting time to develop an immersive experience. The new opportunities offered by the PS5 will literally change the game,” Ropp said. “Innovative high-resolution graphics allow players to actually feel the horror of Inferi. [and] Feel the ground rumbling beneath them as a flock of angry centaurs surrounds them. Even the fight against the deadly dark witch takes on a new level of realism, thanks to the controller’s ability to infuse sound and touch every moment. “
