What is a neoFest?
As the buzz rises neoFest – including the Start-up302 Pitch competition – you may be wondering if this is something you should be involved with.
If you have a Delaware startup, want to start one, or want to share innovative ideas with other people locally, then yes, you probably should.
neoFest is a joint project of a dozen organizations, including University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship, Delaware Prosperity Partnership, Delaware Innovation Space, Delaware Sustainable Chemistry Alliance, New Castle County Emerging Business Center, Millennium summit, Delaware Small Business Development Center and Technical Forum. It will take place at Chase Center by the riverThursday, May 7.
"All of these different organizations are working together on this event, aligning and, in a way, combining," said Ariel Gruswitz, director of innovation for the Delaware Prosperity Partnership. "So, for example, the annual report of the New Castle County Chamber Entrepreneurship Summit will be integrated into the educational component of neoFest during the first part of the day. "
neoFest, which should become an annual event, will include:
- The finals of Hatch Hatch, the University / Delaware Student / Graduate / Staff Startup Contest
- Entrepreneurial summit sessions
- Technical interviews
- “Ask an innovator” sessions
- Lunch and speech
- Showcase of innovation, an event with jury
- Celebrating awards
- The Startup302 pitch competition finals
- "Investor Connect"
- After the party
For the Showcase of innovation, led by Tech Forum, founders, inventors and innovators can apply for free for an opportunity to exhibit at neoFest. Exhibitors will be judged for several prizes which will be awarded during the celebration at the end of the day. Those who are accepted will pay an exhibitor fee of $ 500 and will receive two free neoFest tickets (value of $ 280). The registration deadline is March 17.
"This will give people the opportunity to share ideas," said Michele Schiavoni, Director of External Relations and Marketing for Delaware Prosperity Partnership. "Let's share a vision. It may sound normal, but it's really a way to go from good to excellent with what we're trying to do in Delaware."
Until March 27, neoFest tickets are at a reduced preferential rate of $ 19 for students ($ 40 after March 27) and $ 99 for non-students ($ 140 after March 27).
