Are there two TGP variants for the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT?

Following recent rumors that the AMD Radeon 6700 XT will (probably) be released on March 18, many consumers are already looking at this graphics card with considerable interest. That said, it looks like it comes with some very solid specs, but the fact that it could actually be purchased is a consumer curiosity based on the current situation of almost all graphics. A card that I hope to justify my heart.

However, following the report via Videocardz, the AMD 6700XT seems to point out something reasonably interesting. In other words, it looks like it’s available to AIB partners with two different TGP specifications.

So TGP, what is this? Simply put, TGP refers to the default power level supplied to your graphics card. The more you have, the more you can use. It’s as easy as that. But with this in mind, why does AMD offer two different versions of the 6700XT at different TGP levels? – In theory, the ASIC A design (230W with high TGP) is a model that specifically supports the manufacturer’s overclocking design (additional power allows partners such as MSI and Palit to boat out). The alternative ASIB (189W) design seems to be used (or at least primarily targeted) for the “reference” clock speeds offered by the chipset.

What does this mean to me?

Does this cause problems for consumers, as one is clearly “better” than the other? Well, for the vast majority of people, the answer is no. If you purchase a graphics card to meet the specifications listed in the box, you will definitely receive the amount you paid, regardless of ASICA or ASIB. However, for overclockers, especially those who want to push things as much as possible, ASICA seems to be a better choice. However, it can be a little difficult to identify. After all, I don’t think this is specifically stated on the package. Who knows, maybe it will!
