Create a secure lock screen
It works in your favor and turns on passcode and fingerprint authentication. Do not use facial recognition on your Android device.
On most Android devices, the technology used for facial recognition can easily be fooled by something as simple as a face photo. Google’s Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, like Apple’s Face ID, use a more reliable system, so they are an exception here.
Next, create a passcode and use the settings app[セキュリティ]Set up fingerprint authentication in the section. It may be inconvenient to scan your fingerprint or enter your PIN code every time you use your phone, but the idea that someone can access your photos, bank apps, emails and other personal information It’s totally scary.
If you consider the potential impact of exposing your personal information to strangers, the additional steps to unlock your phone are worth the effort.

Samsung has two different services
If you’re signed in to your Samsung account on your Galaxy phone, you should be fine. However, we recommend that you double-check.

Samsung has long provided the Find My Mobile service to help Galaxy phone owners track lost phones. This service is separate from Google’s Find My Device service, can be configured, and definitely needs to be configured. Not only does it provide a backup service that you can use to track your lost phone, but it also provides tools that Find My Device doesn’t have. With Samsung’s services, you can force remote backups and see if someone has replaced your SIM card. You must use your Samsung account to set up Find My Mobile.
However, Samsung recently announced a new service called SmartThings Find. This new feature works like Apple’s Find My app, which crowdsources lost device locations even when offline, but looks for Bluetooth signals on nearby Galaxy devices and reports the location if found. Instruct. Of course, all of this is done anonymously.
In addition to both Samsung device tracking services, there is no harm in using Google products. Turn on Find My Mobile on your Galaxy phone in the Settings app. next,[生体認証とセキュリティ]>[携帯電話を探す]Go to. If you signed in to your Samsung account during the initial setup of your device, Find My Mobile should already be enabled. Otherwise, it will take a few seconds to sign in and enable Find My Mobile.
SmartThings Find helps you find your device.

For SmartThings Find, you need a Galaxy device running Android 8 or later. As long as you’re running the latest version of the SmartThings app, the setup process should already be in place. I had to go to the Galaxy Store app and update it myself, but once updated, the main page of the SmartThings app shows a map showing the last location of the Galaxy Buds ($ 80 on Amazon) and other Samsung devices. it was done. It is linked to my account below the map.If not set automatically, SmartThings[検索]You need to tap the button and follow the prompts to register your device.

Remotely lock and track lost phones
And this is what to do if you misplace it.
Use Find My Device
Use the Find My Device site to play sounds, lock and erase your phone.

To use Android’s built-in services, you need to remember one thing: android.com / find. That website is where you go in the unfortunate event that you lose your phone. Sign in to the same Google account that is linked to your Android phone.
Isn’t it near your computer? You can use another Android device and the Find My Device app. These must be downloaded individually from the Play Store. As soon as you sign in to the site or app, Google will try to find your phone.
Alerts are sent to your mobile phone to let anyone know that they are being tracked. Use the menu on the left side of the Find My Device site to play a sound (useful if you misplace it at home), lock your device, or erase your device completely.
When you select a secure device, your phone will be locked, the lock screen will display the selected message, and you will be signed out of your Google account. Don’t worry, you can still find the phone even after it is locked. If you’re using Google Pay for mobile payments and you lock your smartphone, no one will be able to make purchases using your smartphone.
If you use the device erase feature, you will not be able to track your phone. Book this feature as a last resort.
If a thief turns off your phone, you won’t be able to track it until it’s turned on again and a cell phone or Wi-Fi connection is established. When the device is found, Google will send you an email.
Once you find your smartphone, you will need to enter your PIN or passcode to access it. This also deletes the lock screen message. You may also need to log in to your Google account to make sure you’re actually accessing your phone. You don’t have to turn off anything in the Find My Device app.
Samsung’s Find My Mobile has many options for tracking and controlling lost phones.

Samsung Galaxy owners can use Google or Samsung’s respective services to find lost devices, but we recommend using Samsung products. The added features are invaluable, as shown below.
To track lost devices with Samsung’s services, you need to visit findmymobile.samsung.com. There is no companion app, so you need to use your mobile browser on another phone or computer.
Sign in with your Samsung account and select the lost device on the left side of the screen. The map shows where your phone is currently located, and a menu of options appears on the right side of the screen.
First, lock your phone. This will display a personalized message on the lock screen, suspend your Samsung Pay card and will not turn off your phone.
Then make a backup of your mobile phone. If you lose it forever, you will want to have a current backup of your phone. If your phone is moving from place to place, use the location tracking feature.
If you enable this feature, calls will be tracked every 15 minutes. Finally, turn on the battery life extension feature. This disables almost all of the phones, but disables location tracking.
Like Google’s Find My Device service, Samsung’s service allows you to simply enter your PIN after finding your phone. You don’t have to go back to your website and turn off tracking.
Don’t stand up to thieves
If your phone is stolen and you can track its location, don’t try to recover it yourself. Doing so can lead to injuries to you or someone else, and despite the importance of the phone, it’s simply not worth it.
Instead, contact your local law enforcement agency and let them know that you need help recovering a lost or stolen phone that could be tracked to a specific address.
Please contact the carrier and file an insurance claim
If you notice that your mobile phone is not coming back, contact your insurance company and claim your insurance.
Sarah Tew / CNET
If it becomes clear that you do not intend to retrieve your mobile phone, please contact your mobile operator and report the loss or theft of your mobile phone. If you do this, the phone will be blacklisted from the mobile operator’s database and will not be available to others.
When you call, your carrier will want to suspend your service as well. This is a good idea if you want to prevent someone from using your phone. However, keep in mind that if you track a lost phone, you will lose your mobile connection to that phone. It cannot be tracked unless the phone is somehow registered on the Wi-Fi network. ..
Finally, if you pay your premium over the phone, you will need to file a claim and pay the deduction to get a replacement phone. Start the insurance claim process throughout your carrier. Carriers may refer you to a third-party insurance company that exchanges phones.
good luck! Hope you don’t have to experience the emotional roller coaster of losing, tracking, or trying to get your phone back.
