Northeastern Maryland Technology Council Honors Visionary Winners | Harford County

HAVRE DE GRACE A select group of Marylanders received the prestigious Visionary Award on February 27 for their contribution to building our workforce for the future and to the advancement of technology and innovation to grow our economy and protect national security.

The ceremony is the largest of its kind in Maryland, held at the Richlin Ballroom in Edgewood, which is in its ninth year. Participants were industry, government and education leaders.

We honor outstanding individuals who continue to play a key role in advancing our region in STEM education and technology, said Claudine Adams, Chair of the NMTC Board of Directors, President and founder of Bravura Information Technology Systems. These are people who give generously of their time and talents to make a difference in our community.

The winners of the 2020 Visionary Prize are:

We are grateful to these people for helping our region take it to the next level. The economic infrastructure of Baltimore, Cecil and Harford counties is increasingly dependent on economic development brought about by new and complex technology, said John Casner, executive director of NMTC.

These are the people who understand this technology and share their knowledge to create the workforce for the future of our region. They join the prestigious Academy of Visionary Awards, which now has more than 120 members.

The five categories of distinctions identified as:

Visionary: A community role model to build our STEM-trained workforce or to advance technology and innovation

Significant contributions to the well-being of our total community are manifested by a personal commitment to advancing the construction of our STEM-trained workforce for the future and to the future. advancement of our base of innovation and technology, with demonstrated qualities of thought leadership over a remarkable period.

Chief: Set the pace for success.

Recognize the constant and constant contributions of individuals to the construction of our STEM-trained workforce for the future or to the advancement of our base of innovation and technology, so while inspiring others to help achieve common goals.

Innovative: Ideas that make a difference.

Recognizes exceptional personal efforts in the development and implementation of innovative programs / products measurably benefiting from the construction of our STEM-trained workforce for the future or advancement of our base of innovation and technology, with a potential for broad and positive impact in the community.

Mentor: Role models for future generations.

One who always goes beyond volunteering by using their knowledge, experience and wisdom to stimulate and inspire greatness among students, teachers or emerging technology companies in order to build the workforce Trained in STEM for the future or to advance our base of innovation and technology.

Rising star: People to watch.

One who has boldly demonstrated the potential to be an excellent long-term contributor to building the STEM-trained workforce for the future or advancement of our base of innovation and technology.

The NMTC is one of the first pioneering technology councils in Marylands which today connects collaborative leaders from academia, industry and the federal government to create a workforce STEM-trained work for the future and advancing innovation and technology to develop the economy of Marylands and protect our national security.
