China builds a 10-storey earthquake-resistant building in one day

In what should be nothing short of a miracle, a real estate developer in China built an earthquake-resistant 10-storey apartment building in 28 hours. Broad Group, the building’s developer, shared a nearly five-minute video of the construction that went viral on social media.

How was that possible

Broad Group used turnkey construction systems to deliver the project. The rooms and other construction units were already prepared in the factory and then each part was transported to the site on trucks.

Each building block has the same dimensions as a shipping container when folded, making it very easy to transport.

The plan is to move the construction units to the construction sites and attach them accordingly. Then necessities such as power and water are connected to make it ready for use.

A report states that at least three cranes are needed to speed up construction.

What is more than a building

The building was built in the Chinese city of Changsha in 28 hours and 45 minutes.

The Broad Group said the building is earthquake-resistant and could also be dismantled and moved to another location. The company also claims that the system can be used to build skyscrapers up to 200 stories tall.
