The US couple Mark Kilian and his wife Anneli Gericke are fighting to see their dying father in Queensland, Australia. The Australian federal government granted the couple an exception to close the Covid border, allowing them to travel to the country. The state of Queensland has denied the quarantine exemption, so the couple is offered 14 days in solitary confinement in a hotel.
