Queen praises “love and responsibility” in today’s crisis as she pays tribute to VE Day – BBC News

The Queen expressed her respect and gratitude to the men and women who achieved victory in World War II 75 years ago.

In a TV address Her Majesty said it was difficult to mark the anniversary in an unusual way. But the British said it was a country known and admired by generations of war.

He praised the response that filled the empty streets with “love and responsibility”.

Street parties were held in the four nations of the United Kingdom, carefully organized to follow the rules of distance required by the current pandemic.
