It’s the second week of bounce challenges here at Pokémon GO, as each week centers around a different area from the mainline games. Last week was Kanto Week, celebrating the first games in the series and the most outstanding Pokemon in the game. Now we turn to Johto, to highlight Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon Gold and Silver. It’s an event that touches most of the game, so let’s analyze it.

The specific search was published a little early, but the main event starts on Friday, May 8, at 1:00 pm local time. We will update this post on Saturday morning with new information.

Secreted: clear. All wild births will be from Johto, and if Kanto needs more, we’ll have plenty of beginners. Remember the blog Skarmory and Dunsparce.

Shiny: Dunsparce is the limelight this time. It is a strange little worm and available in a polished form. I got one of my timed research challenge, but it wasn’t shiny.

Raids: All raids alongside legendaries will be handed over to Johto Pokémon, with a mixture of beginners, hard-to-find creatures and some wild cards there. We will have a complete list once it is published.

Eggs: Chinchou, Yanma, Girafarig, Pineco, Dunsparce, Gligar, Shuckle, Skarmory and Phanpy will start from 7 km eggs.

Timed research: This is what actually lives, for some reason. But like with Kanto, we have a bunch of Timed Research challenges to complete this week for full rewards. A reward for completing all quests is Ho-Oh which knows the exclusive step of an earthquake. You can see complete quests and bonuses here, the most important thing for me is the 10 rare candies you can get by completing everything.

Rewards: We got double stardust from hunting and stardust from raids for the duration of the event.

Umbreon: Umbreon won the most popular Pokemon in the Johto region in a Google vote a few weeks ago, so you’ll be able to catch Pikachu in the Umbreon hat.

And this is the event. I enjoyed Kanto one, and generally these things seem to give a little hull to keeping us around week after week, especially when we can’t play normally. Check back for more, but I look forward to some rare candy.
