At least 60 people have been killed in bombings at Kabul airport – BBC News

The massacre in Afghanistan was followed by twin explosions near Kabul airport, killing at least 60 people and wounding dozens more. The first blast is believed to have been the work of a suicide bomber who tried to fly out of the country as he passed through a crowd gathered for more than a week at one of the airport’s main gates. The second was in a nearby hotel. Along with Afghan civilians, 12 U.S. servicemen were killed in recent days who were warned that they were planning an attack by an Islamic State group in the region and that ISIS was behind the bombings. The Pentagon says evacuation flights will continue, despite further threats.
