Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been criticized for his response to the coronavirus for participating in an anti-lock-up rally recently when he was seen coughing without covering his mouth.

Brazil has seen the largest increase in the number of coronavirus deaths per day, health officials say.

881 new deaths were recorded on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health reported. The total number of deaths is 12,400.

Brazil is at the center of the Latin American brigade. It is currently the sixth most affected country in terms of registered deaths.

And experts say the true figure could be much higher because there is no evidence in the country.

“Only people who end up in hospital in Brazil are being tested,” Domingo Alves of the Medical School of Säo Paulo told AFP news agency.
