Brexit: David Cameron resigns to leave the UK. – BBC News

Prime Minister David Cameron will join in October after the UK votes to withdraw from the European Union. Cameron made the announcement off Downing Street after the final result was announced. He said he would try to “consolidate” the ship in the coming weeks and months, but that “new leadership” was needed.
The Prime Minister asked the country to vote for Remain, warning of the economic and security consequences of an exit, but the UK went from 52% to 48%.
