Coronavirus: Greece embarks on tourism season in mid-June – BBC News

The Greek tourist season is set to begin next month, with international charter flights set to resume in July with locations to famous towns.

“The tourist period starts on June 15, with the reopening of seasonal hotels,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in a televised address on Wednesday.

“Let’s make an epilogue this summer [Covid-19] crisis, ”he added.

The Coronavirus pandemic threatens to ruin the Greek tourism industry, which is crucial to the country’s economy.
