Motorists advised to start fire recovery work on Highway 395

Caltrans District 2, Hat Creek Construction & Materials, Inc. To begin emergency work on 395 US in Lassen County after the Dixie fire. Crews will operate at various locations from about one mile north of Hicks Road toward Doyle to the south. Work will include removal of the hazard tree, replacement of metallic bulkhead and end treatments, replacement of signage, blueprints, fencing, and erosion control.

Work is expected to begin the week of November 1st. Motorists should plan for shoulder closures in the area as needed for operations, Mondays – Fridays. A reduction in the speed limit to 55 mph will be in effect in the project area. Please slow down, drive carefully around crews, and take extra time to move through the area. This work and scheduling is weather dependent and is currently expected to be completed by the end of November.
