2.5 magnitude earthquake shakes Faridabad and felt tremors in Delhi India News

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – A low-intensity earthquake struck Haryana Faridabad, adjacent to Delhi, on Thursday. According to the National Seismology Center, the magnitude of the low-intensity earthquake was 2.5 on the Richter scale and its center is in Nacholi, Faridabad.

The epicenter was 8 kilometers east of Faridabad, Haryana, according to seismologists.

The earthquake struck around 4.24 pm, causing panic among the local residents, who rushed out of their homes for their safety.

No reports of casualties or property have been reported yet.

A low-magnitude earthquake of 2.2 magnitude struck Delhi on May 15. I felt mild tremors in the Petambura locality in Delhi.

So far, it was the fifth of its kind to hit the National Capital Region in a month and the third in May.

Earlier this month, a moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 struck Delhi with the epicenter of the earthquake near Wazirir, northeast of Delhi. The same location and adjacent areas were the epicenter of the earthquakes on April 12 and April 13 with strengths of 3.5 and 2.7 respectively.

Among the five seismic regions, Delhi is located under the fourth region.
