Harvey Weinstein: Former assistant “How Hollywood kept Harvey’s secret” – BBC News
In her first televised interview, Harvey Weinstein’s former aide, Zelda Perkins, talks about why she wanted to change the laws she wanted to whitewash and why she broke the non-disclosure agreement after signing this two decades ago.
Harvey Weinstein’s former aide, who accused him of trying to rape a colleague 19 years ago, has called for a change in UK law on white orders.
Zelda Perkins starred in Weinstein’s Miramax Films in the UK in the 1990s. A colleague said he tried to rape the employee, which he refused.
Perkins told BBC Newsnight that he had tried to explain his behavior, but lawyers said he had “no choice”.
He signed an outreach agreement, but said the process was “immoral.”
Ms. Perkins was 24 when she signed a confidentiality agreement, which prevented her from talking to anyone about the alleged sexual assaults.
Now, she has broken the 19-year silence, and the terms of the agreement she did not disclose, when she spoke in public about the abuse of women by Mogul in the film.
