Another round of earthquakes in Shikabalapur

For the second day in a row, an earthquake was recorded in the Chikabalapura region at 2.16 pm on December 23, according to the National Center for Seismology, which put the magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was 1.2 km southeast of Sadinhali in Gulahali Gram Panchayat. The earthquakes were also felt 1.3 km northwest of Birahanahalli in Julahali Gram Panchayat, and 2.8 km SW of Sitigiri in Adagalu Gram Panchayat. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 18 kilometers, according to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center (KSNDMC).

Another earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 was recorded by the National Center of Seismology, with its epicenter 50 km northwest of Vellore in Tamil Nadu, at 3.14 pm.

On the morning of December 22, two earthquakes of magnitude 3.1 (7.09 AM) and 3.3 (7.14 AM) were recorded in Shikabalapura District.
