Mass protests and arrests in the US over the death of George Floyd – BBC News
Protests against the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis have spread to at least 30 U.S. cities.
A white policeman killed a black American after he was caught on the ground, and kept his knee in the suspect’s throat for more than eight minutes. The latest is a string of black Americans who were arrested or killed in police custody by George Floyd.
There have been violence, robberies and coats of arms in some cities and various peaks have been imposed. Trump’s national security president has denied that there is institutional racism in U.S. police, saying most of the officers were heroes.
But a lawyer for George Floyd’s family has accused him of being accused of “premeditated murder” by police.
Protests in favor of George Floyd have also taken place in other cities around the world in London and Berlin.
