Various earthquakes were felt in different parts of Pakistan

Islamabad:

A strong earthquake was felt across Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday night, officials said.

According to the National Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 5.6 on the Richter scale, while the epicenter was near the Afghan-Tajik border, at a depth of 100 km.

However, there were no immediate reports of damage so far.

Earlier this month, a strong earthquake hit various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the provincial capital Peshawar. The Met Office said tremors were felt in Islamabad.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the epicenter of the earthquake was the Afghan-Tajik border, at a depth of 180 kilometers and a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale.

The earthquakes were felt in several areas in Juan Pei, including Swat, Mingora, Chitral, Buner, Swabi and its suburbs.

The quake was felt in parts of illegally occupied Indian Jammu and Kashmir and areas along the Line of Control, according to Indian media.

An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale at a depth of 15 km was felt in different parts of Karachi in December.

According to the Pakistan National Seismological Center, it originated 15 kilometers south of the DHA in Karachi.

The quake was felt in different parts of the coastal city, including North Nazimabad, Nazimabad, Quaidabad Municipality, Scheme 33, Gulshan Iqbal, Golestan Gohar, Gulshan Al Hadid and others.
