The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center said the 6.2-magnitude earthquake occurred Wednesday morning in Guatemala, at a depth of 96 kilometers, about 40 kilometers southwest of Mazatenango.

The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said the quake hit the Central American country on Wednesday morning, with its epicenter in Nueva Concepción.

MSC said the missile was at a depth of 96 km.

The initial quake was felt at 1.12 a.m. local time, before two aftershocks occurred at 1.50 a.m. and 1.56 a.m., with magnitudes of 5 and 4.8, according to reports.

Other footage shows boulders falling across a road and emergency workers digging through the rubble.

This comes after the so-called swarm of earthquakes hit Guatemala on Sunday, with 15 tremors being felt within 24 hours, according to INSIVUMEH.

They measured between 3.2 and 5 on the Richter scale.
