We’ve often heard people tell us they’ve been waiting for more than a week. In this waiting time we kept our luggage in a small storage area and only went there to get clean clothes to change after showering at the basic gym. On our third day, we heard a loud call for travelers wanting to get seats to travel, we informed the service desk. The agent told us there was a plane leaving for Germany and that there would be a better chance of getting the plane back into the states from that station.

I left my wife at the counter and hurried to get our bags from the store. I was the only person in the area when I heard a voice telling me not to get on this plane, it’s not for us. I looked around thinking there was someone else with me, but it wasn’t there. Then I realized that it was the voice of the Lord saying Do not leave yet. So, I went back to the desk and informed the agent that we would not be making this trip. After telling my wife what I had experienced with the Lord, we let the next people in line take our place. After that we got a funny look and a comment from the agent but we sat down.

About an hour after the plane left, we heard the same loud voice from the office saying another plane was going back to the states and everyone who wanted to leave on this flight came to the desk. Ironically, a passenger plane that brought both military and civilian personnel to the Persian Gulf region was ending the rest of its crew there in Rota. The pilot and cabin crew stated that the plane’s next destination was Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and that they were ready to receive anyone who wanted to go. This happens to be my hometown. There was enough space for everyone waiting at the station to leave.
