Vancouver movie set looks like an earthquake in Granville (PHOTOS)

If you thought it sounded like a disaster scene from the ’80s in Granville and Bender this weekend, you were technically not wrong.

Crews at the site are said to have filmed the pilot of NBC’s re-takeoff of the Quantum Leap – specifically, a scene depicting the 1989 San Francisco earthquake.

Variety said the cast includes Caitlin Bassett, Nanressa Lee, Mason Alexander Park, Raymond Lee and Ernie Hudson.

As usual, Vancouver did an excellent job of playing another city on screen.

The original sci-fi TV show Quantum Leap with Scott Bakula debuted the same year as the earthquake in 1989. It follows a former scientist who gets trapped in time during an experiment and has to jump into a new object every week.

Filming began at 7 am and ended at 8 pm on March 26. Filming will begin at the same hours on March 27, and on March 28, they will be there from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The crews are doing a complete shutdown of 300 and 400 blocks of Granville in the meantime.

“There will be extensive pedestrian control on sidewalks within our area of ​​activity for safety and image continuity,” the notice reads.

They will also be shooting inside a local bar called One Under on March 28 from 1-9 p.m. It will be closed for this occasion.

The main entrance to the Canada Line Waterfront terminal will also be closed until it is completed.
