Announcing presentations for bushfires, Cascadia earthquake and tsunami | News

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Emergency Management, is excited to announce its in-person spring community presentations. Personal community presentations are free to the public and do not require registration.

Lincoln County, partner cities, the tribe, and public safety agencies will participate in the nationwide exercise, Cascadia Rising 2022, in June of this year. As part of the pre-workout activities, the department supports the Cascadia 4 Week Ready Campaign – these personalized presentations are the start of the campaign. In conjunction with these presentations, the mayor’s office also hosts annual bushfire preparedness presentations to keep everyone informed of preparedness and response steps ahead of the summer season.

In-person presentations will be a mix of Module 3 and 4, Protecting Property with Understanding Wildfire Risks, Emergency Notifications and Evacuations, and taped presentations will be available early in May.

Wildfire preparedness presentations:

In 2021, the mayor’s office registered eight units related to wildfire preparedness. These are still available for viewing on the county’s website. The 2022 Personal Presentations will be a mixture of Modules 3 and 8. Each of the following modules is only one hour long. 1 – Financial and commercial readiness. – Warning re-entry into Wildfire

Ahead of the 2020 COVID response, the department regularly gave Cascadia presentations in person and would love to see you again at your in-person presentations this spring. The current presentation can be found on the Earthquake and Tsunami Preparedness web pages; However, they plan to update and update this presentation and will publish with a new recorded copy in early May.
